Mission
The Department of Veterans Services is a State mandated service, which provides services to veterans, veteran spouses and their dependents. Its authority derived from Chapter 115 of the General Laws of the Commonwealth.
On July 1, 1999, the Town of Northborough entered a District (D26) with the Towns of Grafton and Shrewsbury as part of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Veterans Services. Veteran Officer for town of Northborough, appointed by the three towns as the District Director of Veterans Services, Veterans Officer and Burial Agent. The Department supervised by the office of the Secretary of Veterans Services and in part by the State for all funds expended.
