Health Insurance Opt-out Program

In an effort to reduce the cost of the Town's Health Insurance premium costs, the Town is offering a Health Insurance Opt-Out Program. The incentive will be offered to enrollees that have received health insurance benefits through the Town for the immediately prior 12 months. Employees who are eligible to participate in the program must provide written documentation of alternative health insurance covered outside of the Town's group plans. The letter must include the dates of coverage and names of all those covered by the plan. This documentation will be required to be re-certified on an annual basis to qualify for the Opt-Out program each year.

The Annual Amount of the incentive payment that will be offered:

  • Individual Coverage: $1,000
  • Family Coverage: $2,000

The Opt-Out incentive payment will be taxable income and paid on a monthly basis through payroll.
